A hearing test examines your hearing. It determines whether your hearing is normal, or whether you are developing hearing loss. The assessment includes a determination of the the frequencies (ie. pitches) you are able to here, determines the extent of a hearing loss (ie. severity), as well as provides a possible reason for the hearing impairment.

A hearing test is a great way to obtain a baseline of your current hearing levels as a means for comparison with future hearing test results (for monitoring of hearing changes over time). An initial baseline hearing assessment is typically recommended for those over 50 years old, and periodic re-assessment of hearing levels is recommended for monitoring.

COST

We provide an initial diagnostic hearing test at no charge for adult patients with suspected or known hearing loss. No referral is required.

There is a fee for hearing tests that are required for driver’s licenses, applications for enrollment in Police Force and RCMP training programs, as well as employment. Click here to contact our clinic for details.

A hearing assessment comes with no obligation. If a hearing aid is recommended, your professionals at the Halton Hearing Centre will be able to provide you with detailed advice that will allow you to choose the best hearing aid technology to meet your listening needs.

HOME VISITS

We also provide home visits. We will often provide this service for patients who have difficulty coming into the clinic, or for those who do not have access to a car/transportation.

We are able to complete home hearing screenings, as well as resolve hearing aid issues. Please contact us for applicable fees.
